On September 24, 2026, a road accident on the Ranchi‑Jamshedpur National Highway near Domuhani Marine Drive killed Trisha Singh, the daughter of Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, and three other passengers.
The incident involved a speeding car that struck a truck parked on the road. Locals and police used a gas cutter to open the vehicle and extracted all four occupants. They were transported to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
Congress leader and Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari confirmed the deaths on X, describing the event as “extremely heartbreaking and soul‑wrenching.” He expressed deep condolences to the family, noting that the pain of a mother losing a child cannot be expressed in words.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren also posted his grief on X, calling the loss “extremely distressing and heart‑wrenching.” He offered heartfelt condolences to Ms. Pandey Singh and the bereaved families, invoking spiritual comfort and the need for strength in this difficult time.
Additional condolences were shared by Soren’s wife and MLA Kalpana Murmu Soren, as well as Opposition Leader Babulal Marandi, each expressing sorrow and wishing strength for the affected family.
