The National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a charge sheet before the NIA Special Court in Vijayawada on Friday, accusing nine individuals in an online radicalisation case.
The Two Town police of the NTR Commissionerate had registered the case in March and arrested 11 persons, including a minor, before transferring it to the NIA.
According to the NIA, the accused were supporters of the proscribed terrorist organisation Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and conspired to establish a caliphate, spreading messages on social media to radicalise youth.
The accused, natives of different states, allegedly developed a separate application for secret communication and planned violent activities, the investigation agency said.
The case was registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, Section 66F of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The NIA said in a release that the investigation is continuing.
