In Dimapara and Chokpot, located in South Garo Hills, local authorities announced new initiatives aimed at improving community services and infrastructure.
A memorandum issued by the Public Works Department outlines plans to upgrade roads and public facilities in the area. The department will oversee the implementation of the memorandum.
Health services will also receive attention. The Dalu Primary Health Centre is slated for refurbishment and expansion to increase capacity and improve equipment. Local leaders, including Pandith Marak and Adrian Sangma, highlighted the importance of the upgrade.
Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma endorsed a program that includes a Kilometre‑1 road segment linking Dimapara and Chokpot to Meghalaya. The project is part of a district‑wide effort to strengthen infrastructure, and a memorandum has been issued to support its implementation.
