The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Nagaland marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday with service‑oriented programmes across all 14 organisational districts and 60 mandals. Senior leaders, including State President Benjamin Yepthomi, former ministers and advisors, attended the events in Dimapur, Wokha, Kohima, Tuensang and other locations.
Blood donation camps were held in Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung. The state BJP said the celebrations reaffirmed its commitment to the spirit of “Seva Hi Sangathan,” dedicating the occasion to serving the people and strengthening grassroots outreach across Nagaland.
Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, celebrating the birthday in Tongti village, highlighted the Modi government’s expansion of infrastructure, welfare delivery and digital services, and noted increased development activities in Nagaland and the Northeast. Patton praised Modi’s journey from Vadnagar to Prime Minister, his record as India’s longest‑continuously serving elected head of government, and the 4,399‑day mark he crossed on 10 June 2026.
Patton cited physical and digital infrastructure projects—highways, airports, railway electrification, digital payments—and welfare schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat, Jal Jeevan Mission and Ayushman Bharat. He noted the Prime Minister’s 83 visits to the Northeast and 880 ministerial visits between 2015 and 2025, and highlighted projects worth more than Rs 1,700 crore inaugurated in Nagaland in March 2024, including roads, a Unity Mall and a 132 kV sub‑station. Patton expressed hope for continued connectivity, opportunities, peace and development in the region.
