East Singhbhum district administration in Jamshedpur has introduced a new WhatsApp‑based chatbot service, ‘Abua Mitra’, to streamline public complaints.

Launched by Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan on Tuesday, the service can be accessed through the number 85800 90001. Citizens can register complaints directly from their mobile phones, choose a preferred language, and attach related documents.

Complaints submitted through WhatsApp are automatically linked to the district’s Jan Sahayata JSR portal. After registration, the portal updates the complaint details and forwards them to the appropriate department or authority for action, ensuring a clear chain of responsibility.

The district will send status updates in multiple phases via SMS to the registered mobile number, eliminating the need for repeated office visits. Ranjan said the new system will enhance transparency and accountability in complaint redressal.
