The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) visited a government primary school in Noida on Tuesday as part of its “School Thik Karo” campaign, where it noted that toilets were poorly maintained and other infrastructure problems existed. Co‑convenor Saurav Das, who led the inspection team, reported that classes were in session and students were present, and that teachers had cooperated.
After the initial visit, the CJP team tried to inspect three additional schools but was denied entry. At one of the schools they claimed, garbage had accumulated outside the entrance. The group also alleged that the Noida administration had instructed school staff to prevent CJP representatives from conducting inspections.
In response, Gautam Buddh Nagar Basic Shiksha Adhikari Rahul Panwar issued a statement rejecting claims that schools had been closed following the inspection. He said that the circulating social‑media message claiming that all government schools in the district had been ordered to shut was false, and that no closure orders had been issued. Panwar emphasized that schools were operating according to the prescribed schedule.
CJP highlighted additional concerns, including teachers’ non‑teaching duties such as Special Intensive Revision electoral‑roll work and Booth Level Officer tasks, which they say add to teachers’ responsibilities. The party also raised questions about the use of an unused room that had previously served as a public library and called for better maintenance of school facilities. CJP announced it will continue auditing schools across Uttar Pradesh and urged citizens to inspect local schools and demand transparency and accountability from authorities.
