The Meghalaya Education Department has announced that the Structured Pay Framework (SPF) will be applied to the 4th Teacher rank, following a directive from Commissioner & Secretary Vijay Kumar Mantri. The decision aims to standardise pay and benefits across government schools.
Commissioner Mantri communicated the change to the All Meghalaya 4th Teachers Association (AM4thTA), and General Secretary Frederick Lyngdoh Tongkhar confirmed that the SPF would be implemented for the 4th Teacher rank. Tongkhar noted that officials would receive formal notification and that the rollout would be carried out in a phased manner.
The implementation of the SPF is scheduled to begin on 19 August, as outlined in the department’s official memorandum. The framework will be applied to various categories of government school staff, including SSA, RMSA, Adhoc, 4th Teacher, Science Grant, Hindi Grant, and Pre‑Primary positions.
Schools will be required to sanction posts in line with the new pay structure, ensuring that all employees receive the fixed pay rates set by the SPF. The department’s directive emphasises that the framework will guide future postings and salary adjustments for government school personnel across the state.
