On September 12, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, Deputy Inspector General of Police (CID), inaugurated the Apraava Energy Scholarship 2026 at the Yhoshu Resource Centre (YRC) in Kigwema village, Dimapur.
The scholarship is a joint initiative of the Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS) and the YRC Project, Kigwema, with financial backing from KMTL/Apraava Energy. It is designed to provide monetary support and educational opportunities to deserving students from the region.
During the ceremony, Dr. Kaur presented certificates to the scholarship recipients and stressed that every student, regardless of background, deserves an equal chance to pursue their ambitions. She highlighted the importance of scholarships as stepping stones that prevent talented youth from being sidelined by financial hardship, and she urged students to maintain honesty, diligence, and a life of service.
The Yhoshu Resource Centre currently hosts a boys’ hostel, a futsal ground, a livelihood activities area, and other amenities. A girls’ hostel is under construction. These facilities aim to benefit underprivileged students and families in the surrounding area.
