The 6th Kohima Inter‑Departmental Badminton Tournament, organised by the Inter Department Badminton Club (IDBC), concluded on Saturday at the Multipurpose Hall of the NLA Stadium. The two‑day competition saw 78 teams from various government departments and well‑wishers battle for titles.
Four categories were contested: 50+ retirees, legislators and former legislators, mixed doubles, women’s doubles, and men’s doubles. The event was supported by Special Officer to the Chief Minister Neibalie Rio, the State Bank of India, Toyota, and Urban Bay Sports, Kohima.
In the 50+ retirees, legislators and former legislators category, the Department of Treasuries and Accounts pair Temsu Longkumer and I. Aochuba Pongener claimed the title, while M. Rhovisie Nyuwi and Uniel Kichu of the Police Department finished as runners‑up. The mixed doubles champions were Uma Tamang and Lamtingmang of the Police Department, with Vikosieto Krose and Nchibamneu of the Department of Economics and Statistics as runners‑up. The women’s doubles title went to Ruokuotuonuo Rame and Repayangla Tzudir of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, and the runners‑up were Khosalu Keyho and Nuvetalu Thirah of the Department of Health and Family Welfare. In men’s doubles, Kezhalezo Solo and Kevingulie Sote of the Department of School Education emerged champions, while Solomon C. Anar and Immanuel Shohe of the Police Department finished second.
The tournament provided a platform for inter‑departmental sporting interaction.
