Unity College in Dimapur marked its 20th Freshers’ cum Annual Day on September 11, gathering students and faculty on campus for a series of celebratory events.
The day began with a welcome address from Principal Dr Lichumo Enie, who greeted the new cohort of undergraduate, postgraduate, and B.Ed students. He described the college as a place where students often discover themselves and urged the freshers to be bold, inquisitive, and to adapt to the campus environment while maintaining good moral conduct.
Guest of Honour Dr Kethoser (Aniu) Kevichusa, Executive Director of BMS World Mission, praised Unity College for its commitment to diversity and inclusivity. In his speech he highlighted the importance of holistic development—academic, mental, and spiritual—and encouraged students to embrace servanthood values for personal growth and community betterment.
The programme also featured the felicitation of Nagaland University rank holders and subject toppers from the UG, PG, and B.Ed streams, the release of the college’s annual journal and magazine, and speeches by senior students Viraseno Mejura and Sumit Kumar. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Orenponi Lotha and the crowning of Mr and Miss Fresher 2026 winners in both the undergraduate and B.Ed categories.
