A fighting performance from Langsning saw them overturn a one goal deficit to win 3-1 against Rangdajied United in the first match of Round 3 in the Shillong Premier League 2026 at the SSA Stadium on Saturday.
Franky Dkhar scored first for Rangdajied in the 25th minute, but Mebanshngain Kurkalang equalized in the 45th minute with a header from a set-piece, before Syed Ahmed and Rohan Manar sealed the win for defending champions Langsning with goals in the 65th and 88th minutes respectively.
The match was a crucial one for Langsning, who had beaten Sawmer but then lost to Meghalaya Police in their previous match. Rangdajied, meanwhile, had drawn with the police and were then defeated by Sawmer.
Langsning made three changes to their lineup, bringing in Rajat Paul Lyngdoh, Kyrmenskhem Mukhim, and Denelson Pyngrope, while Rangdajied made five changes, swapping in Bantiplang Khongnoh, Mebannangkiew Thabah, Freelyson Tariang, Elnathan D Wahlang, and Eijingmut Dkhar.
Both teams were engaging throughout the 90 minutes, with Mebannangkiew Thabah and Samuel L Kynshi coming close for Rangdajied in the early minutes. Langsning also had chances, but it was Rangdajied who took the lead through Franky’s low left-footer.
However, Langsning equalized before halftime and then took the lead in the second half through Syed’s header. Rohan Manar sealed the win with a late goal, set up by Alex Manar’s good work.
The SPL 2026 action will return on Monday when Meghalaya Police take on Sawmer at 3:40pm.
