A woman in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, allegedly killed her husband with the help of her daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend, according to a senior police official. The accused woman, Naina, 40, is said to have sedated her husband, Manoj Soni, 42, before crushing his head with a stone. The incident is believed to have occurred after Manoj disapproved of his daughter’s relationship with her alleged lover, Vimal Chaudhary, 22.

The body was disposed of in a forest area along the banks of River Yamuna, and despite a search operation that has been underway since Thursday night, police are yet to trace it. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar said the three accused are being interrogated, and a search for the body is ongoing. The accused had initially confessed to family members that they had burned the body in the forest near Akrur village and later buried the remains there.

According to the complaint filed by Manoj’s brother, Rambabu, the accused had a dispute with Manoj over his daughter’s relationship. Manoj had left home after the dispute, and when he went missing on April 18, Naina initially filed a missing person report but later withdrew it. A complaint was eventually lodged on July 11, and the three accused were detained on Friday.

Efforts are underway to trace Manoj’s remains, but the search operation has been hindered by incessant rainfall. The police have been digging at various spots in the forest for the last three days but have failed to find the body. The accused have failed to identify the exact location where they buried the remains.

The police have not confirmed Manoj’s murder yet, as the search is still underway. The investigation covers an area of approximately six kilometres extending from the house to the banks of Yamuna. The police are working to uncover the truth behind the alleged murder and dispose of the body.
