The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) has congratulated its president, Watinuksung Jamir, on his appointment as the Team Manager of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming India tour of Sri Lanka Test series 2026. The Indian team is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for the Test series from August 7 to 27.
The NCA described the appointment as a matter of pride for the association and the cricket fraternity of Nagaland, recognizing Jamir’s leadership, experience, and contribution to the development and promotion of cricket in the state. The association stated that Jamir’s presence with the national team on an international tour marked a significant milestone in his professional journey as well as for Nagaland cricket.
The appointment also reflects the growing recognition of Nagaland and its cricket administrators at the national level. The NCA extended its best wishes to Jamir for his new responsibility and expressed hope that he would represent Nagaland with distinction on the international stage.
The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) also extended its congratulations to Jamir on his appointment. The DDCA described the appointment as a significant milestone for Nagaland, stating that Jamir’s selection marked an important recognition of the contribution of the state’s cricket administrators at the national level.
The DDCA said Jamir’s appointment would serve as an inspiration to the sporting community, particularly young cricketers in Dimapur, by demonstrating that opportunities at the highest level could be achieved through dedication and commitment.
