The Kozhikode cyber police have launched an investigation into an alleged defamatory Facebook post targeting Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, registering a case as part of their ongoing probe. The case has been filed against a Facebook account operating under the name ‘Nithin Kakkedath,’ following a petition submitted by a member of the Beypore Block Congress Committee.
According to the police, the case was registered due to allegations that the social media post was intended to provoke unrest and create disharmony among the public. The police have identified the suspect with the support of the hi-tech cell and plan to question them soon. The complaint was initially submitted to the District Police Chief (Kozhikode city) before being forwarded to the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber) for immediate action.
