A 25-year-old woman in Meerut allegedly took her own life on Monday after failing to clear the Uttar Pradesh Police recruitment examination. According to officials, the woman was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her rented accommodation by her landlord around 2:30 pm. The police and a forensic team were immediately called to the scene, where they collected evidence and informed the woman’s family.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Preliminary investigations suggest that the woman had been under mental stress following her failure to clear the recruitment exam. Lalkurti Station House Officer Harendra Pal Singh stated that initial findings indicate a case of suicide, with no suspicious circumstances found at the scene.
The forensic team has collected evidence, and all angles are being examined. Further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and other findings. The police are currently investigating the matter and will proceed with legal action once all necessary reports are received.
The body will be handed over to the woman’s family after the post-mortem examination is completed.
