A handwritten note allegedly containing information related to bomb-making was recovered from the X-ray department of Rajarshi Dashrath Autonomous State Medical College in Ayodhya, prompting the detention of a first-year paramedical student for questioning. The note was found after the completion of the night shift in the X-ray laboratory and was handed over to the medical college administration, who subsequently informed the police. The student, identified as Sarfaraz, a resident of Balrampur district, is pursuing a laboratory technician course at the medical college.
According to officials, during preliminary questioning, Sarfaraz told the police that he had been watching a movie on his laptop during his night duty and had copied information shown in the film about bomb-making onto paper. The police are verifying his claim, and the student was taken to the police lines for further questioning by officials of the Special Operations Group, Special Task Force, Special Branch, and Intelligence Bureau. Another student who was on duty with Sarfaraz was also questioned, while a third student, who had left for his hometown after the shift, is being contacted, police sources said.
The Chief Medical Superintendent of the medical college stated that the administration immediately informed the police after the suspicious note was found and that all action is being taken as per the prescribed standard operating procedures. No arrest has been made so far, and no charges have been formally filed. The investigation is currently underway.
