The Ato Area Sports Association (AASA) has successfully concluded its 3rd Under-15 Lt. Ghonito Football Memorial Trophy, which took place from July 20 to July 23 at Khehoyi Village. The four-day tournament saw spirited competition among the participating teams. In the final match, Nihokhu Village emerged as the champion after defeating Nikhekhu Village.
The individual awards were also given out, with Tunakivi Achumi from the Nihokhu Team being named Player of the Tournament. The Hat-trick Heroes award was shared by Hinoto, Akivi, and Gihuka from the Hozukhe Team, while Akivi and Gihuka from the same team were also declared the Highest Goal Scorers. Vikupu from the Nikhekhu Team was awarded Best Defender, and Kahevi Aye from the same team was named Best Goalkeeper.
The tournament was attended by president BJP Mandal 5th Gaspani-2 AC, T. Honito Sema, as chief guest, and president Sector Unit NPF 5th Gaspani-2 AC, Ashito Awomi, as guest of honour. Both dignitaries encouraged the young athletes and highlighted the importance of sports in fostering unity and discipline among youth.
