Indian Army Trains NCC Cadets in UAS, C-UAS

The Indian Army’s Spearhead Gunners recently conducted a ‘Basic UAS and C-UAS’ training programme for approximately 120 NCC cadets of the 22 AP NCC Battalion in East Siang district. The training, which took place from 8-12 July, was divided into two phases. The first phase was held at the 22 AP NCC Battalion from 8-10 July, while the second phase was conducted at the Sigar military station from 11-12 July.

The comprehensive programme included lecture-cum-demonstrations on UAS and C-UAS drills, introduction to drones and their components, simulator flying, real-time drone flying, equipment display, drone display, and repair demonstrations. The cadets were also introduced to the employment of drones in surveillance and reconnaissance, as well as the basics of countering drone threats through practical demonstrations and interactive sessions. The training aimed to provide the cadets with exposure to emerging drone technology and enhance their understanding of the role of UAS and C-UAS in modern military operations.

The enthusiastic participation of the cadets reflected their keen interest in learning and adopting new technologies. The initiative is part of the Indian Army’s efforts to promote technical awareness, innovation, and skill development among the youths, while strengthening its bond with the young generation of Arunachal Pradesh.
