Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona emphasized the state government’s commitment to enhancing transparency, efficiency, and institutional excellence in the education sector through reforms. A meeting chaired by the minister at the Assembly office in Itanagar reviewed the proposed recruitment rules for the post of deputy director of elementary education. The new rules would provide for promotions from the post of block education officer, focusing on a transparent, merit-based, and well-defined promotional framework.
According to Sona, a robust and progressive service structure is crucial for motivating officers and further improving the quality of educational administration across the state. The discussions centered on strengthening administrative efficiency while creating better career advancement opportunities for officers in the education department. In a separate meeting, Sona, who also heads the Rural Works Department, assessed the progress of ongoing road connectivity projects in Shi-Yomi district.
The meeting evaluated the status of various projects, discussing challenges affecting their execution and emphasizing the need for better coordination among stakeholders to prevent unnecessary delays. Sona directed the department to strengthen monitoring and establish a dedicated mechanism for closer supervision of the PMGSY projects. This move aims to accelerate implementation and improve accountability.
The government remains committed to expediting road connectivity projects in Shi-Yomi district for the benefit of the local population.
