On Thursday in Aizawl, Chief Minister Lalduhoma launched a 14‑day training programme for non‑Mizo All India Service officers posted in Mizoram. In the statement, he urged the officials to learn the Mizo language and understand local customs so that public service can be delivered effectively.

The programme, titled ‘Mizo Culture, Language, Society and Value System,’ will run until 28 October with one hour of instruction each day. It is the first initiative of its kind in the state, and the CM praised the Administrative Training Institute for organising it.

Lalduhoma said that good administration requires more than rules; it demands that officers build trust and relate to the people’s concerns. He highlighted the Mizo value of Tlawmngaihna—self‑lessness and community service—as a key principle that binds society together.

Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena said the training would improve communication between non‑Mizo officers and residents, strengthening grassroots administration. A total of 41 officers from the IAS, IPS and IFoS are participating, with 19 posted in districts expected to attend online.
