Lucknow experienced bright sunshine on Monday, with the highest temperature reaching 32.0 °C and the lowest 21.4 °C, according to the meteorological department. Muzaffarnagar recorded 9 mm of rainfall, Meerut 5.6 mm, and traces of rain were noted in Moradabad, while the rest of the state reported no precipitation. The department added that isolated places might still see rain and thundershowers.
In response to the continuous heavy rainfall, the Uttar Pradesh government has accelerated relief and monitoring operations to restore public amenities and improve arrangements ahead of upcoming festivals. Senior officials from the Urban Development and Energy departments have been instructed to act promptly in affected regions.
The government has directed that drainage be prioritized in waterlogged areas and that immediate cleaning and sanitisation follow the receding water to curb communicable diseases. Major roads and routes are to be made pothole‑free, and officials are to enhance sanitation and public amenities in urban areas, especially around religious sites, before the festivals.
During a review of the Energy Department, Minister AK Sharma held a virtual meeting with senior officials, DISCOMs, and engineering staff to assess the status of power infrastructure damaged by the rainfall and other natural calamities. He ordered additional machinery, equipment, and manpower to be deployed to restore power supply promptly, emphasizing that electricity should be reinstated without delay wherever waterlogging or other issues have caused outages. Continuous field‑level monitoring and swift repair of damaged lines and transformers were also mandated to ensure consumer relief.
