One terrorist was killed during an ongoing anti‑militancy operation in the Budgam district of Kashmir on the night of September 29, 2026, the Army announced.
A joint search operation was launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force in the general area of Korag, Yousmarg, according to the Army spokesman. The operation was based on specific intelligence input.
According to the Army, vigilant troops observed suspicious activity and, when challenged, the suspected terrorists opened fire. A fierce exchange of gunfire ensued, during which one terrorist was neutralised.
The Army said the operation was in progress. The identity and affiliation of the slain terrorist could not be established immediately.
