A 22‑year‑old man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 17‑year‑old girl on three separate occasions, after allegedly gaining her trust by promising marriage, a complaint filed by the girl’s aunt says.
The victim, a ninth‑grade student from Andhra Pradesh, occasionally stayed with her grandparents in Jeedimetla. She first met the accused, Madhu, a bakery worker from Chintal, when visiting the area for a festival about a year ago. He allegedly promised love and marriage and maintained frequent phone contact, meeting her occasionally during her visits to Jeedimetla.
According to the complaint, Madhu invited the girl to his house in March, May and June, claiming to speak with her. Each time, when no one else was present, he allegedly sexually assaulted her despite her reluctance, while assuring her of marriage. The incidents were discovered when the girl’s aunt reviewed her phone and noticed suspicious conversations with Madhu.
The girl was initially hesitant to speak out due to fear but later disclosed the assaults to her aunt. She then approached the Jeedimetla police, who booked a case and arrested the accused. Further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the alleged offenses.
