Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Monday that Haryana will prioritize research in drone manufacturing to meet the growing domestic and international demand for drones and to broaden their applications across multiple sectors.
Saini said the initiative will benefit local startups and create employment for the state’s youth. He directed officers to promote startups, provide plug‑and‑play facilities for industry, and equip young people with technical skills.
The chief minister noted that drones are in high demand not only by the Indian Army but also by other sectors and overseas markets. He emphasized that the Haryana government intends to explore all possibilities for drone use and encourage research, technical education and skilled labour in the field.
In addition to the drone focus, Saini highlighted the Industrial Model Township (IMT) framework, which has accelerated industrial development in Haryana. The state has six major IMTs—Manesar, Bawal, Rohtak, Sohna, Faridabad and Kharkhoda—spanning thousands of acres. The government plans to expand existing IMTs and develop ten new ones, including sites at Naraingarh, Ambala, Jind, Murthal‑Gannaur and Rai, and will establish a service centre in each township to streamline support for industries.
