Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 138th episode of the monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ for its emphasis on people’s participation and the pursuit of a drug‑free India.
In a post on X, Sawant noted that Modi highlighted ‘Jan Bhagidari’ as a powerful force in nation‑building and urged citizens to support the Nasha Mukt Bharat movement. He urged the public to steer youth away from harmful habits and help those battling addiction.
The Prime Minister also shared the story of the Ganesha Himal Museum in Chiang Mai, Thailand, which displays Indian faith, art and the Ashtavinayak tradition. Sawant said the museum’s showcase of Indian cultural heritage reaching devotees worldwide was a fitting illustration of India’s cultural outreach.
Sawant added that Modi’s message about promoting India’s rich heritage, culture and tourism was especially relevant to Goa on World Tourism Day. He said the themes of participation, cultural pride and nurturing a drug‑free younger generation align with Goa’s efforts to present its unique traditions to the world and contribute to a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed India).
