Industries and Commerce Minister T. G. Bharath Gupta addressed the passing‑out parade of 629 Andhra Pradesh Special Police constables in Kurnool, urging them to discharge their duties responsibly and with a spirit of service that upholds public trust in the police department.
He explained that the word ‘police’ should inspire fear in anti‑social elements while protecting ordinary citizens, and advised the new constables to make effective use of government‑provided tools such as artificial intelligence, CCTV networks and vehicle‑movement‑analysis systems.
The minister praised the sacrifices of parents who dedicated their children to national service, hoping the recruits will honor those aspirations and bring a good name to both the department and their families. He also highlighted government plans to conduct regular recruitment and create new job opportunities for unemployed youth.
Commandant Deepika Patil noted that the nine‑month training programme covered all aspects of modern policing, and awards were presented to the best drill instructors. The ceremony also drew police officials, training staff, families, and Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, who emphasized that police are the government’s face on the streets and that crime, especially cybercrime, demands continuous learning of new technology and scientific investigative methods.
