Union ministers and several Bharatiya Janata Party leaders celebrated the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s (ABVP) sweeping win of three of the four seats in the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections on Saturday, while asserting that Generation Z will not accept the opposition’s falsehoods.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised ABVP as a “symbol of the unwavering faith of the youth in the Nation First policy” and congratulated the party on its “splendid success.” He added that ABVP would continue to serve student interests, national service and nation‑building. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said the landslide victory proved that the “Chhatron Ki Goonj” called by Congress and other opposition parties was in fact “Jhooth Ki Goonj,” and noted that Congress had been reduced to zero seats in the DUSU.
BJP President Nitin Nabin highlighted the win as evidence of the youth’s continued faith in constructive student politics rooted in the “Nation First” spirit and their resolve to contribute to a “Viksit Bharat.” Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra called the result a triumph of a nationalistic mindset, arguing that students favored those who speak of the nation’s welfare over “petty politics.” BJP leaders Virendra Sachdeva, Pradeep Bandari and Bhandari echoed this view, framing the victory as a defeat of misinformation and a win for truth, patriotism, development and the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The ABVP’s success, according to the party, demonstrates that today’s youth are not confused but confident that the country’s leadership remains secure under Prime Minister Modi, and that the opposition’s propaganda has fallen flat. The election outcome underscores a nationalistic shift in student politics and a rejection of the opposition’s narratives.
