Azad Samaj Party chief and Member of Parliament Chandrashekhar Azad criticised the Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday, calling it a “false façade” in the run‑up to the 2027 Assembly elections. The MP, who was in Ayodhya to meet the family of Ram Lagan Maurya, a victim of August 25 firing after a land dispute, said the state’s lack of employment opportunities was a major concern.
Azad slammed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for distributing appointment letters close to the election and for announcing new vacancies that he said had already been issued over the past nine and a half years. He highlighted the backlog of 4.5 to 5 lakh vacancies in state posts, including teacher recruitment drives and positions for Panchayat Assistants, ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers.
The MP accused the government of using the election period to “hide their sins and misdeeds” and of relying on “Anudeshaks” and Shiksha Mitras to fill teaching roles without paying full salaries. He said the lack of proper recruitment for B.Ed. and BTC teachers undermined the education system.
Azad described the employment situation in Uttar Pradesh as an injustice, noting that educated youth are unable to find jobs and are forced to migrate to other states. He urged the government to address the vacancy backlog and create real opportunities for the people.
