A tragic incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh district on Saturday evening, resulting in the deaths of a man and his nephew while they were fishing near Mendholi Market. The victims were identified as Nanhe Vishwakarma, 45, and his nephew Lalle, 25, a resident of a nearby village. According to Additional Superintendent of Police Alok Kumar, Lalle ventured into deep water while fishing and began to drown.
In an attempt to save him, his uncle Nanhe jumped into the water but unfortunately drowned due to the strong current and great depth. The police were informed about the incident, and a rescue operation was launched with the assistance of the fire brigade. After a strenuous effort, the fire brigade and villagers managed to recover Nanhe Vishwakarma’s body.
However, despite a prolonged search that continued until 8 pm, Lalle’s body could not be found. The search operation was halted due to darkness and will resume in the morning. The body of the deceased has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
