The Markapuram police have arrested a man linked to two murder cases in DG Peta village, Chandrasekharapuram mandal, Markapuram district. The arrest was made on Saturday, August 22, 2026, and the police have recovered gold ornaments and weapons from the accused.
According to Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju, the accused attacked 56-year-old Pavali Venkata Subbamma on August 13, 2026, while she was returning home with a bundle of fodder. The accused stole her gold chain and earrings, prompting her brother to lodge a complaint at the CS Puram Police Station. Eight special teams were formed to investigate the case, which led to the identification and apprehension of the accused, Pavali Suresh.
During interrogation, Pavali Suresh confessed to his involvement in another case, where he killed Dega Ratthamma, also from the same village, in October 2024 to loot her jewellery. The Superintendent of Police commended the efforts of the teams involved in solving the cases, including Markapuram OSD Navajyothi Mishra, Kanigiri In-charge DSP Sridhar Babu, and several other officers.
The arrest and recovery of stolen items have brought closure to the families of the victims, and the police are being praised for their swift action in solving the cases. The incident highlights the importance of diligent police work in bringing criminals to justice.
