A brazen attempt by a group of impostors to pose as Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers and raid a businessman’s residence in Rohini, New Delhi, was foiled on August 8. The incident has led to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) and the launch of an investigation by the police. According to the complaint filed by the businessman’s family, the group of around eight to 10 people arrived at the residence, claiming to be CBI officers and seeking to conduct a search.
However, the businessman’s wife refused to grant them entry, citing the need for proper authorisation. The group allegedly tried to pressure the family into allowing them to enter the premises, but ultimately left after neighbours gathered and questioned their credentials. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area, and police are currently examining the footage as part of their investigation.
The family made a PCR call following the incident, and police promptly responded to the scene. The police are now scrutinising electronic evidence, including the CCTV footage, to identify the impostors and determine their motives. The police have registered an FIR in connection with the incident and are conducting a thorough investigation.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working to identify the individuals involved in the attempted raid and bring them to justice.
