Nalgonda police have detained two students in connection with the murder of 49-year-old school principal Kallu Roopa Reddy. Roopa Reddy, the principal of Nagarjuna Public School in Kondamallepally, was found murdered at her house in JB Colony with 27 stab wounds.
According to the police, the incident occurred when Roopa Reddy’s husband, Rajender Reddy, was away in Hyderabad for work. Initially, the police questioned over 50 people, including her husband, but were unable to arrive at a conclusion. However, a breakthrough was made after investigators examined footage from a surveillance camera near her house.
The footage showed a teenager near the house, leading the police to pick him up and question him. During interrogation, the teenager allegedly admitted to the murder. The police stated that the suspect bore a grudge against Roopa Reddy after she terminated him from the school by issuing a transfer certificate.
A second school student was also detained in connection with the murder. The police investigation revealed that the motive behind the murder was the grudge held by the suspect against Roopa Reddy. Further investigation is underway to uncover the details of the crime.
