A 52-year-old man from Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district died during treatment at a private hospital, prompting his family to stage a protest and allege medical negligence. Gheesulal Meghwanshi, a resident of Rayla, had been seriously injured in a road accident on July 8 and was initially admitted to the district hospital before being referred to the private hospital due to his deteriorating condition.
Meghwanshi underwent head surgery at the private hospital and was receiving treatment. However, his family claims that a critical mistake was made when he was briefly removed from the ICU to complete formalities related to the Bhamashah health scheme. The family alleges that hospital staff failed to reconnect the ventilator’s oxygen pipe after Meghwanshi was shifted back, causing his condition to rapidly deteriorate.
The family further claims that there was a delay in the arrival of hospital staff despite being informed of the situation, ultimately leading to Meghwanshi’s death. In response to the incident, the family staged a protest on the hospital premises, demanding action against the doctors and staff involved.
According to Bheemganj SHO Sunil Chaudhary, a written complaint has been taken from the family, and a fair investigation into the allegations will be conducted. Following the investigation, appropriate legal action will be initiated.
The incident has raised concerns about the quality of care provided by private hospitals in the region and the need for greater accountability in the medical profession.
