A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on the Varanasi-Rewa National Highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district, claiming the lives of two men and leaving a woman seriously injured. The incident took place near a village under the Lalganj police station area on Wednesday.

According to Station House Officer Ved Prakash Pandey, the victims, Sushil Saket, 30, and Sanjay Chaturvedi, 31, were residents of Madhya Pradesh’s Mauganj district. They were traveling with Rupali, 28, a resident of Indore, after offering prayers in Varanasi when the motorcycle lost control and crashed into a divider.

The impact of the crash was severe, resulting in the instant death of Saket and Chaturvedi. Rupali sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Community Health Centre in Lalganj by police and an ambulance after passers-by alerted them to the accident.

Due to the critical nature of her injuries, Rupali was later referred to the Mirzapur Trauma Centre for further treatment. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem, and their family members have been informed.

The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
