A search operation is underway in the Yamuna river in outernorth Delhi’s Alipur area after four minors were feared drowned on Sunday. According to officials, the minors were swept away by the strong current of the river while bathing near Hiranki village.
The incident occurred at around 7:30 pm on Sunday, when five minors entered the river. One of them managed to raise an alarm after the others got caught in the strong current and disappeared. The police were informed about the incident shortly after.
A joint search operation by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Delhi Fire Services, and local police is ongoing. The operation continued for the second day on Monday, but so far, no bodies have been recovered. The search efforts are still underway to locate the missing minors.
