Retired IAS officer Dinesh Kumar has been appointed as the Chairman of the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC), a body tasked with reviewing salary revisions for state government employees.
Kumar, a 1983-batch IAS officer who previously served as Chief Secretary to the state government, assumed the role following the issuance of Government Order Ms. No. 200 on October 1. The order constituted the 12th PRC and set a deadline of one year for the commission to submit its report.
The commission will conduct a detailed study based on information gathered from government departments, employees and their associations before presenting its findings within the stipulated timeframe.
After taking office, Kumar met with Secretary to Government (Finance) V. Vinay Chand and Additional Secretary Gautam Allada, as well as G. Ramakrishna, president of the State Secretariat Employees’ Association, and other representatives of employee groups.
