An interactive mock parliament session and a civic awareness campaign were held at Sainik School in East Siang district on Thursday, aiming to nurture civic responsibility, leadership, and democratic values among cadets.
The event, organized by the Itanagar‑based NGO Let’s Speak Arunachal under the guidance of founder Porsum Ori and secretary Tana Jiri, featured a mock parliament for students in classes nine to twelve. Participants gained hands‑on exposure to parliamentary procedures, policy discussions, public speaking, and constructive debate.
Simultaneously, an interactive session on fundamental rights and duties was conducted for students in classes six to eight. The session encouraged early understanding of constitutional responsibilities, fostering responsible citizenship from a young age.
Cadets displayed remarkable enthusiasm, confidence, and a keen grasp of democratic principles, underscoring the value of experiential learning in shaping future leaders. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to participants for outstanding involvement and leadership. The programme reaffirmed the shared commitment of Let’s Speak Arunachal and Sainik School to empower youth, promote constitutional values, and strengthen democratic awareness, especially in remote border regions.
