Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said on Wednesday that the NDA coalition government is committed to protecting citizens’ land rights and resolving long‑standing disputes, stressing that governance must reach people and improve their lives.
Addressing the “Mee Bhoomi‑Mee Hakku” programme in Machavaram, BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, Naidu highlighted that water and land are essential for livelihood, adding that the government is prioritising both. He noted that despite the severe impact of El Nino, more than 1,000 TMC of water from the Godavari River had flowed into the sea, which could have brought significant benefits if utilised.
The chief minister also described social initiatives such as the monthly pension distribution under the “Pedala Sevalo” programme and the Public‑Private‑People Partnership (P4) aimed at raising living standards. He announced a garbage‑free campaign every third Saturday under the “Swachh (clean) Andhra‑Swarna (golden) Andhra” programme, with a focus on converting waste into wealth and promoting a circular economy.
Regarding land issues, Naidu accused the former YSRCP government of tampering with land records and introducing the Land Titling Act to seize land. The NDA government repealed the act and is conducting a comprehensive re‑survey, issuing new Pattadar Passbooks with security features such as e‑KYC, QR codes and blockchain. He said auto‑mutation has benefited 1.2 lakh families, 16 lakh acres have been freed from restrictions, and 224 long‑pending land disputes have been resolved.
The CM added that the government has settled a 120‑year‑old land dispute and cleared other longstanding issues in Shettipalli, Vatticherukuru, Kalidindi, Kangundi and Mudinepalli, benefiting 1,410 people through the resolution of 56.37 acres of land.
