BJP State President Nainar Nagenthran criticised a speech delivered by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on Monday, arguing that the house is not a cinema studio for the chief minister.
Nagenthran accused Vijay of yelling and shouting in the Assembly and delivering catchy lines as if he had no connection with law and order, calling the approach “indecent politics.” He urged the chief minister to address welfare issues in the House.
He cited recent violence, noting ten murders reported in Coimbatore district over the past month and two murders that occurred in Chennai in a single day. Nagenthran added that six deaths in police stations had been reported since the TVK‑led government assumed office.
“When this is the situation, you should have given your reply regarding the law and order situation. You should have taken responsibility for the deteriorating law‑and‑order situation in Tamil Nadu and should have proposed measures to ensure the safety of the people,” Nagenthran said.
