Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Tuesday that the State government will provide appointment letters to one lakh youths over the next six months. He also stated that more than 9.3 lakh youths had been provided government jobs by his government through a transparent and non-discriminatory process since 2017.
Addressing a function at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Mr. Adityanath handed over appointment letters to 3,446 newly selected Technical Assistants (Group-C) and 126 Mandi Secretaries in the Agriculture Department under Mission Rozgar through the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC). He urged the newly selected candidates to use this opportunity for the benefit of the State, future generations, and the country, emphasizing the importance of honest discharge of duty.
The Chief Minister praised the recruitment commissions and boards for ensuring that appointment letters are issued to deserving candidates based on merit through a transparent recruitment process, free from discrimination and in accordance with reservation policies. He also instructed officials to streamline the process, ensuring that results are declared within six months after a requisition is received and advertisements are issued within one month, followed by examinations conducted within the subsequent two months.
Mr. Adityanath hailed the transparent recruitment over the last nine years as an achievement of the double-engine government of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He accused the previous Samajwadi Party (SP) government of neglecting youths, stating that before 2017, advertisements were issued but results never came, and the Hon’ble Court had to stay the process, ultimately wasting the time and age of youth.
The CM also mentioned that after becoming Chief Minister in 2017, he directed officials of the Board of Secondary Education to conduct examinations and declare results within one month. He claimed that examinations for 56 lakh candidates of the U.P. Board are now completed within 14 days, and results are declared within the next 14 days, and universities have also been directed to bring reforms.
