A tragic accident occurred in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district on Monday, resulting in the loss of three lives and leaving one person seriously injured. A speeding dumper truck collided with a car carrying a family of four on the Khinvsar-Madpura road, police said. The family was returning to their village, Madpura, after attending a relative’s condolence meeting in Bikaner.
The impact of the collision was severe, causing the car to be dragged for nearly 50 feet, according to Khinvsar SHO Ujaram. The deceased were identified as Sugna Ram, 45, his wife Suva Devi, 43, and his sister-in-law Mani Devi, 40. Dhanaram, Sugna Ram’s elder brother, sustained serious injuries and was referred to Jodhpur for treatment.
Local residents rushed to the scene and pulled the occupants out of the mangled car, taking them to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, three of them were declared dead, while Dhanaram was referred to Jodhpur in a critical condition. The dumper driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene after the accident.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem, and the police are investigating the incident. The car involved in the accident was reportedly purchased just last week.
