The Congress party has vowed to intensify its protests if the cases of exam paper leaks are not resolved within a month and the culprits not punished. This was stated by Madhya Pradesh state unit president Jitu Patwari, who addressed a gathering at the ‘Youth Self-Respect: Gen-G Cyclothon’ in Bhopal on Wednesday. Patwari emphasized that the Congress will continue its struggle from the streets to Parliament to protect education, transparent recruitment, employment, and the future of the young generation.
He made these remarks at the cyclothon, which began in Indore under the ‘Chhatraon Ki Goonj’ campaign. State Congress in-charge Harish Chaudhary alleged that the education system is in decline, with government schools being closed, exams lacking transparency, and the future of the youth being compromised. He pointed out that irregularities in NEET and other examinations have raised serious questions about the education system.
Chaudhary further stated that classrooms in colleges and universities are empty because the unemployment crisis is deepening. He criticized the government for being unable to provide employment to the youth, relief to farmers, or fair opportunities to students. Patwari claimed that more than 200,000 people joined the ‘Schools’ Goonj Abhiyan’ started by Rahul Gandhi in Madhya Pradesh.
He also alleged that during the 12 years of the Modi government, paper leaks occurred 90 times and more than 50 exams had to be cancelled. Scams have been continuously exposed in recruitment exams, including Vyapam, in Madhya Pradesh. The Congress leaders also demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on moral grounds for ‘irregularities’ in the education system, including the NEET-UG exam scandal.
The NEET-UG exam for admission held on May 3 was later cancelled following allegations of question paper leaks, and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the matter. The cycle rally, which started from Indore, reached Bhopal on Wednesday en route Ashta, as part of the ‘Chhatraon Ki Goonj’ campaign, which is being seen as a mass movement to fight for education, employment, and the rights of the youth. Opposition leader Umang Singhar said that ‘Chhatraon Ki Goonj’ is not just a cyclothon, but a mass movement to fight for the country’s democracy, youth rights, and future.
He invoked Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, and Mahatma Gandhi to appeal to the youth to come forward to protect democracy and the Constitution.
