A 27-year-old man, identified as Ebin Tomy, has been arrested by the Perumbavoor police for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a 46-year-old woman at her residence. The accused, a native of Nellikuzhy, Kothamangalam, is also suspected of attempting to break into the house and stealing a motorcycle from within the Vazhakala police station limits. According to the police, the alleged incident occurred on July 10 when the residents were away from home in the evening.
The accused allegedly trespassed into the house and attempted to break open an almirah. He then hid on the premises, waiting for the residents to return. The woman returned home around 7 p.m. and was allegedly assaulted by the accused.
The police have booked Ebin Tomy in connection with the incident. This is not the first time he has been involved in a crime, as he has been booked in around 10 cases across various police stations. The Perumbavoor police have taken the accused into custody and are investigating the matter further.
