Former Rajya Sabha member H. Hanumanthappa passed away on Sunday due to age-related illness at the age of 94.
Hanumanthappa had a long and distinguished career in politics, serving as a three-time Rajya Sabha member. In addition to his parliamentary service, he also held the position of chairman of the Central Silk Board.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has expressed his condolences on the passing of Mr. Hanumanthappa, describing him as a senior Congress leader and a leader of the Scheduled Castes. In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said he was saddened to learn of Hanumanthappa’s passing, paying tribute to his legacy as a former MP from Chitradurga.
