A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and left unconscious in a field on the outskirts of Charra township in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. According to the girl’s father, she had gone to a nearby market on Saturday evening for some purchases, but when she did not return after a long time, family members launched a search and reported the matter to the police. A police team arrived and, with the help of locals, discovered the girl unconscious and bruised in a deserted area.
Two men who were loitering nearby in an inebriated condition were also detained by the police. The girl’s father alleged that the two accused initially rendered the minor nearly unconscious by spraying some chemicals on her and then forced her to consume liquor before assaulting and raping her. Based on the medical report, a case under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered against the two accused, following which they were arrested, according to Circle Officer (Charra) Avinash Kumar.
The girl is currently undergoing treatment at the district hospital, and her condition is stable, the officer added.
