Arunachal Pradesh’s Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs Minister Gabriel D Wangsu has called for strict enforcement of the provisions of the Legal Metrology Acts & Rules in each district of the state. He made this call while addressing officials at a review meeting of the Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs (LM&CA) Department held on Friday. Wangsu emphasized the need for the department to expedite enforcement works by mobile inspection teams at the zonal level.
The minister also stressed the importance of evolving means and methodologies to equip field officers to deal effectively with the changing dynamics of business communities in the market. He advised imparting training to enforcement officers by organizing programs for them to visit other states and adopt best practices. Wangsu also directed officers to expeditiously deal with and dispose of cases related to establishment works and enforcement activities.
LM&CA Secretary Mige Kamki asked officers to train themselves with all office applications to become self-reliant in office works. He also advised district-level officials to work cohesively to achieve the annual revenue target fixed by the state government, which will be reflected in their Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR).
LM&CA Controller Minte Siga exhorted members to actively participate in the review meeting to draw a roadmap for the welfare of the department. He stressed on creating a peaceful and friendly atmosphere in the office for the greater welfare of the department. Assistant Controller (HQ) Gamkhong Singpho also spoke at the meeting.
The review meeting was attended by LM&CA Under Secretary Kipa Yakum and all deputy controllers, assistant controllers, inspectors, and other officers of the LM&CA Department.
