The land acquisition and assessment process for the proposed Mebigeko-Gerukamukh National Highway has begun in Arunachal Pradesh. The Upper Subansiri district administration is carrying out the process in collaboration with the relevant departments and officials of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited. According to Dumporijo ADC Otem Jamoh, the team has covered approximately 2 to 3 km from the 0.0 km point to Nuk village in the initial phase.
The affected villagers participated in the process and extended their cooperation to the officials. The assessment is being conducted to facilitate the construction of the Mebigeko-Gerukamukh road. Local leaders, including Maro ZPM Takam Ropuk and Baririjo ZPM Marpe Haider, were present during the assessment and assured their full support to ensure the exercise is conducted smoothly and peacefully.
