A total of 83,201 farmers in Arunachal Pradesh have received financial assistance amounting to Rs 16.88,38 crore through direct benefit transfer under the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, or PM-KISAN. This was announced in an official press release. The PM-KISAN initiative has been providing assured income support to farmers, contributing significantly towards agricultural development and livelihood security. Agriculture and Allied Sectors Minister Gabriel D Wangsu highlighted the importance of PM-KISAN as a flagship farmer welfare initiative of the Government of India.
He appreciated the efforts of the Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and all implementing agencies involved in ensuring the successful delivery of benefits to farmers. The 23rd instalment of PM-KISAN was released during a live webcast programme organised at the ADC conference hall in Longding district on Saturday. The programme was attended by government officials, including Kanubari ADC Yashwant Meena, senior scientists of KVK Longding, ZPMs, public leaders, and more than 200 farmer beneficiaries from Kanubari and adjoining areas.
