During a mid‑term rally in Tennessee, President Donald Trump took a jab at former Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her “beautiful” in a sarcastic tone. The comment was delivered as he shifted from his prepared remarks to recall past campaign rallies held by Harris and former President Joe Biden during the COVID‑19 pandemic.
Trump’s remark, “Remember that beautiful Kamala? Somebody said she’s so beautiful. Really?” prompted laughter from a group of women standing behind him. One woman gave Harris a thumbs‑down while another shook her head vigorously. Trump has repeatedly commented on Harris’s appearance, sometimes calling her “beautiful” while claiming he looks better than his 2024 opponent.
The president’s focus on Harris’s looks is not new. In August 2024, he discussed a Time magazine cover featuring an illustration of Harris with Elon Musk, noting she looked “like the most beautiful actress ever to live” and comparing her to former First Lady Melania. Less than a week later, he repeated the theme at a rally in Pennsylvania, warning that calling a woman “beautiful” could end a political career, but insisting he was a better‑looking person than Harris.
During the Tennessee rally, Trump also criticized his wife, saying she dislikes his speaking style and calls it “not at all elegant” and “not presidential.” He defended her as “a very elegant woman” and mentioned a documentary she produced, claiming it was the No. 1 film of the year, while joking that there is only room for one star in a family.
