Satish Jarkiholi to Respond to Critics, Addresses Ballari Nala Issue

Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi said on Saturday that he would respond to those he believes are conducting a smear campaign against him at an appropriate time. Speaking to presspersons in Belagavi, he criticised the spread of misinformation as lacking historical awareness, noting that his party has been engaged in public struggles for the past 30 to 40 years and will respond when the time comes.

Jarkiholi also addressed the Ballari Nala issue, acknowledging that the nala’s narrow width has hindered development and farmers’ economic progress. He said the government had requested a report on the matter and would decide on further action once the findings were received.

The minister announced that the inauguration of the Deputy Commissioner’s office building and the commencement of work on the Belagavi flyover are scheduled for the first week of November. He also mentioned a request for additional funds for Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations in Belagavi, stating that he would discuss the matter with the Deputy Commissioner and bring it to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s notice, emphasizing the need for proper arrangements to provide food for Kannada enthusiasts.

In other remarks, Jarkiholi denied reports of a secret meeting with former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, said payments to contractors would be made on eligibility and applicable rules, and supported the right of demonstrators in Delhi to protest against the Cockroach Janta Party. He also expressed confidence that district and taluk panchayat elections would be held in December and that his party was prepared to contest them.
